The PRX model is suitable for any application where the rotating axe keeps constant height if the diameter varies, for instance, when long pieces are rotated with a vertical turntable positioner. In this case, one or more idle units working as supports are used. The rolls of the PRX model are avaible both in the idle and in motorized version. All models can be mounted on tracks. The PRT model is suitable for the clamping, the rotation and the tilt movement (only for the PRTB model) of cylindrical profile tubes, for manual or automatic welding. They can either be used for applications inside companies or in assembly sites. The positioner mod. PRT are avaible both in the fixed and tilt version. The tilt one has a manually operated gearbox in the PRTB 250/500 models, while in the PRTB1000 model the tilt movement works at fixed speed in a.c. The tilt angle is approximately +/-45° The new range of MECOME roller positioners (models PR, PRB, PRX, PRT) covers a wide number of uses, such as the moving of tanks, tubes and cylinder section bodies of small, medium and large dimensions. They are usually used to support painting, assembling, cutting, circumference and longitude welding operations, and they work together with automatic plants like booms, portals etc. The PR model represents the perfect solution for the manipulation of small and large diameter tanks, since a left-right screw obtains the roll distance regulation. Instead, the PRB model perfectly suits the manipulation of various section cylindrical bodies, since it allows automatic diameter alignment and balanced weight distribution. The weight distribution is differently obtained by the PR model if a tank of large diameter and little thickness is moved.
Technical features of PR and PRB models
A careful study on users’ needs, a quality oriented planning and execution have determined a product whose features and uses are:
• more compact main structure, thanks to the new design
• wide rotating speed regulation with Vmax/Vmin=30
• electronic board for a precise control of the motor speed in a.c., complete of tachometer dynamo, that keeps constant the rotation speed , even if eccentric loads cause a change in the torque factor • self-ventilated motor, granting constant rotation also at low speed
• millimetric metric ruler, parallel to the guides, allowing the reading of the position**
• self-holding structure in electro welded and machined steel
• fast and precise wheel positioning by a left and right screw. This solution allows both wheels moving simultaneously always maintaining the tank axis on the same vertical symmetry plan**
• all electric components are grouped in a box mounted on the base, where the main switch, the synchronizing plug for manipulators and portal, the connector for the operating board with a 5 meter cable (or a cable of any other length, at customer’s request), low tension control are located ** only for the PR model The positioners model PR and PRB are available in the fixed floor version and in the movable on track, with or without motor.
